Same-Day Care When You Need It Most
A dental emergency doesn’t wait for business hours. We offer same-day appointments for urgent dental concerns, managed by our experienced dentists, and you don’t need to be an existing patient.
We’re also clear about situations that are better treated at a hospital emergency department, where care may be safer and faster depending on the injury. For severe facial swelling, uncontrolled bleeding or trauma to the jaw or face, go directly to your nearest emergency department.

What Counts as a Dental Emergency?
A dental emergency generally involves significant pain, active bleeding, trauma or infection that can’t reasonably wait. A minor chip with no pain, a lost filling that isn’t uncomfortable or mild sensitivity can usually wait for a routine appointment.
- Time is critical
Knocked-out tooth
A tooth reimplanted within minutes has a much higher chance of surviving. Keep it moist and call us immediately.
- Don’t ignore it
Severe or persistent toothache
Throbbing pain that won’t settle or stops you sleeping may mean infection, an abscess or advanced decay.
- Protect the pulp
Broken or cracked tooth
A fracture can expose the inner pulp to bacteria. Early care can often save the tooth.
- Same-day attention
Abscess or swelling
Swelling of the jaw or face, especially with fever, signals a potentially serious infection.
What to Do Right Now
Knocked-Out Permanent Tooth
Handle the tooth by the crown, never the root. Keep it moist: gently place it back in the socket if you can without forcing it, or store it in milk. Getting to a dentist within 30–60 minutes gives the best chance of success, so call us immediately.
Broken or Chipped Tooth
Rinse with warm water and apply a cold compress to your cheek. Contact us promptly; a crown is often the definitive repair for a significantly broken tooth.
Severe Toothache
Rinse with warm water and gently floss to remove trapped food. Never place aspirin on the tooth or gum, as it can burn the tissue.
Bitten Tongue, Lip or Soft Tissue
Clean gently with water and apply a cold compress. If bleeding doesn’t settle quickly, call us for guidance.

Emergency Dentistry FAQs
When should I see an emergency dentist?
For significant pain, active bleeding, a knocked-out or badly broken tooth, a lost crown or filling causing discomfort, or facial swelling that may indicate an abscess. If you’re unsure, call us and describe what happened.
What should I do if my tooth gets knocked out?
Handle it by the crown, never the root. Keep it moist, ideally back in the socket if you can do so gently, or in milk, and call us immediately.
Do I need to be an existing patient?
No. We welcome new patients for same-day emergency care. Simply call and we’ll take it from there.
How much does emergency treatment cost?
It depends on the emergency and the treatment needed. You’ll receive a clear explanation of fees before treatment, and item numbers for health fund claims.
What if it happens outside business hours?
Leave a message or contact us first thing in the morning so we can arrange a same-day appointment. For severe facial swelling, uncontrolled bleeding or jaw or face trauma, go directly to your nearest hospital emergency department.
